Police in Battle Creek were called to a drowning Friday, July 6. The call went out at around 8 p.m. in the 200 block of Taft Ct.
According to police, emergency responders arrived on scene and started CPR on the girl. The 8-year-old girl was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
The name of the victim will not be released and police say the incident is still under investigation.
