BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - A single-family home is a complete loss after a Friday night fire.

According to the Battle Creek Fire Department, crews responded to report of flames at a home at 405 Nichols Rd around 9:15 p.m. Friday. When they arrived on scene, they found a single-family, one-story home totally engulfed in flames.

There were no fire hydrants near the home, so mutual aid, for tankers, were called in.

Authorities say the home was possibly occupied at the time of the fire, but after investigation, all residents were safely found outside the home.

The fire department says the fire control was all defensive -- as there was no way to make entry to fight the fire from within.

No one was injured in the fire, but the home is considered to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
