BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - City officials are trying to help residents cool down this weekend.
Willard Beach Park will be open for free June 30 and July 1 for neighbors and visitors during this weekend's heat wave. The heat index on Saturday could get to as high as 110.
Gates open at the park from 8 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.
The city advises residents to stay hydrated and check on your children, pets and elderly family and friends during the excessive heat advisories continue.
