Cedar Springs High Schools holds first Pink Week to raise awareness, money for cancer

As a part of the campaign, people can buy a Pink Week t-shirt, which gets them into all the Pink Week athletic games for free.

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. - During the first week of October, Cedar Springs High School is holding its first ever Pink Week. The coordinated effort raises awareness and funding for cancer.

All of the funds generated from Pink Week will go to The Cure Starts Now Foundation in honor and memory of Brison Ricker, a Cedar Springs student who died from cancer in December 2017.

As a part of the campaign, people can buy a Pink Week t-shirt, which gets them into all the Pink Week athletic games for free. This includes, Tuesday night's boys soccer, Wednesday's tennis and volleyball, and Friday's football game.

At Tuesday night's soccer game, the team paid tribute to Brison by placing flowers underneath a "Ricker" jersey.
