Hospice of Michigan raises more than $500K over three years of BBQ event

Delicious barbeque, handcrafted cocktails and live music were all featured at this year's Hospice of Michigan's fundraiser.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Hospice of Michigan hosted its third annual Barley, BBQ & Beats event in Grand Rapids. Over the course of three years the event has raised over $500,000 for the nonprofit's Open Access Fund.

The Open Access Fund provides money for end-of-life care to patients.

The Barley, BBQ & Beats event was held at Van Andel Arena on Saturday evening. And it featured tastings from 22 local pitmasters and distillers.

There was also live music, a variety of food and drink samplings and lawn games.

The event's sponsor, CareLinc Home Medical Equipment and Supply, donated $25,000.
