Two men were shot and killed during a home invasion in west Detroit early Thursday morning, Detroit police say.
The two men, ages 54 and 47, were unloading packages and groceries outside "when they were marched back inside the home" by three suspects at gunpoint and shot inside the home, according to a preliminary investigation statement from police sent via text.
The incident occured at 12:36 a.m. on the 14800 block of Ashton Street, police said in the statement. Both victims were transported to the hospital after suffering gunshot wounds.
The two victims were brothers, WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) reports.
A third individual fired shots and the suspects fled out the front door. It is unknown if any shots took effect, according to police.
One potential suspect has been taken into custody, police said.
