Pence expected back in Michigan to tour Ford plant, talk trade

Vice President Mike Pence will be in the Detroit area on Wednesday, April 24.

DEARBORN, Mich. - Vice President Mike Pence will be in Michigan tomorrow.

According to Pence's office, he will be in in the metro Detroit area tomorrow. He will be attending a private Trump Victory event to ramp up re-election efforts for President Donald Trump in 2020.

The former Indiana governor is also slated to tour the Ford Motor Company Dearborn Truck Plant and give his remarks on the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

The last time Pence was in Michigan was back in October of 2018. He attended two rallies for Michigan Republicans.

Trump was more recently in Michigan for a rally. The president was in Grand Rapids back in March for a Make America Great Again rally. It was there that Trump said he would fund the $300 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

Democratic presidential candidates have also made early stops in Michigan, as Democrats are trying to win back three states from Trump in the presidential election: Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Those three Midwestern states are quickly becoming battleground states.

Sen. Bernie Sanders campaigned in West Michigan earlier this month. Former U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke and U.S. Sen. Kristen Gillibrand were in metro Detroit back in March
