Tracey Nelson has been hired as the new administrator for the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
Nelson was formerly the administrator for MediLodge of Capital Area in Lansing. This facility provides nursing care,short- and long-term care, physical and occupational therapy, respite care, memory care, palliative care and other services to 120 residents.
The previous administrator for the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, Scott Blakeney, resigned in September 2017.
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Director James Robert Redford made the announcement on Monday, Nov. 20. “Tracey has more than a decade of experience working in skilled nursing environments, including the past five as an administrator," he said.
"She comes to GRHV at an exciting time as we look to the future of providing the best possible care for our state’s veterans. All of us at MVAA and the Michigan Veterans Health System look forward to Tracey’s arrival" said Redford in a statement.
Nelson will be taking over for Steve Rolston who was the interim administrator. Rolston will return to his position as chief operating officer of Michigan Veterans Health System once Nelson takes over on Dec. 4.
