The city of Grand Rapids hosted the fourth annual Neighborhood Summit on Saturday, March 3.

The event was held at GVSU's Pew campus in downtown Grand Rapids. City leaders and residents gathered to discuss Going Beyond a Seat at the Table, which was the theme of this year's summit.

Mayor Rosalyn Bliss opened the day, and the keynote speaker was Rasheda Weaver, an assistant professor of community entrepreneurship at the University of Vermont.

Grand Rapids residents, neighborhood association leaders, business owners and other community stakeholders attended the day-long event. The goal of the summit is to connect residents and give them skills to make Grand Rapids a more equitable place.

This year, the summit spoke to the need for economic equity and opportunity in the city.
