Could you be a town crier?

See what it takes to be a town crier as we catch up with Holland's official town crier, John Karsten.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — We're catching up with Holland's official Town Crier, John Karsten as he prepares to retire.  He joined us in studio along with Rachel Syens, Town Crier Competition coordinator.   

Town Criers from around the world will be in Holland from Tuesday, May 7 - Sunday, May 12. They will be participating in the Volksparade on Wednesday, May 8; the Muziekparade on Saturday, May  11; and appearing at the Dutch Marktplaats event at the Holland Civic Center Place throughout the Festival.

The 2019 International Town Crier Competition will be held during the Dutch Marktplaats event at the Holland Civic Center Place on Friday, May 10 from 2 - 4 p.m.
