The superintendent for Jenison Public Schools has announced that he will be retiring this summer.

Superintendent Tom TenBrink made the announcement Monday night.

“Mr. TenBrink, what more can be said than thank you! I was in Jenison Jr. High when you were there, and I am so blessed to work in the JPS schools and have my children grow up as Wildcats. Thank you for the way in which you have handled so many tough situations with grace and wisdom and especially this past year’s events. Thank you for being a strong and level-headed leader for our JPS family,” said Kristie Ymker in a Facebook post the school made.

TenBrink has been with the district for over 18 years and worked for the district for 34 years total.

He says that the decision is bittersweet and didn’t come easily.
