8 Kalamazoo County businesses caught selling alcohol to minors in police sting

The sheriff's office was able to run this operation because they were awarded a grant to help with the compliance checks.

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office caught eight businesses selling alcohol to minors when they checked for compliance.

The sheriff's office says that a total of 74 area stores and restaurants where checked for compliance when someone under the age of 21 tried buying alcohol. Those minors were working with police.

Each of the eight businesses caught was cited along with the clerk who made the sale to the minor.

The sheriff's office was able to run this operation because they were awarded a grant to help with the compliance checks.
