Arrest made after armed robbery at Kalamazoo business

Stolen money, a firearm and other evidence were recovered from the scene, according to police.

An arrest has been made after an armed robbery in Kalamazoo. The Department of Public Safety responded to the area of 2800 Portage Rd. for a report of an armed robbery that happened at a business around 8:15 p.m.

Police say, employees provided a detailed description of the suspect and officers were able to make contact with the suspect near the intersection of Portage Rd. and Cork St.

Stolen money, a firearm and other evidence were recovered from the scene, according to police.

The suspect was identified as a 37-year-old Kalamazoo man and has been lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on charges related to the armed robbery.
