A 68-year-old Galesburg man was found dead early Wednesday in an apparent accident.
Battle Creek police were called about 6:30 a.m. to a small industrial building at 288 Buckner Road, west of W.K. Kellogg Airport.
Detective Sgt. Troy Gilleylen said the man was found in a storm drain outside the building and was pronounced dead at the scene
Police said the man went to the location sometime Tuesday and apparently was attempting to clear debris from a storm drain. His son went to the property Wednesday morning when he realized his father had not returned home.
Officers believe the man fell head-first into the drain and was unable to climb out. He is believed to have either drowned or suffered a fatal medical condition but the death is being ruled an accident, Gulleylen said.
