This Black Friday when you're thinking about what to get your loved ones, you might want to consider something you know they won't want to return.

"This is probably the cheapest you can get unconditional love," said Jen Self-Aulgur, the executive director of the Harbor Humane Society.

This Black Friday any pet with black fur, black markings or even a black nose are discounted.

  • Black cats and kittens fees are waived
  • Black dogs are available for $45
  • Any animal that doesn't have black on them will get a 30% discount

It's an offer that Harbor Humane Society employees hope plenty take up as they deal with an unusually full house.

"It's November, and we still have kittens that are looking for homes which is virtually unheard of and we just consistently have a steady stream of dogs looking for good homes," Self-Aulgur said.

Self-Aulgur attributed the warm Fall weather to the increase in kittens. They have 150 to 200 cats in the facility as well as foster homes.

"Really anything we can do to get people to start thinking about adoption, promoting adoption and getting people into our building, then the animals kind of do the rest," she said.

If you aren't able to make it for the Black Friday special, the Humane Society is also offering a Santa Paws delivery option a few days before Christmas.

For an additional fee, elves will deliver the animal to your home to make that gift just a little bit sweeter.
