Lake Express cancels all voyages due to expectation of high waves

The company says passengers have a choice of rescheduling their trip or receiving a refund.
The Lake Express crosses Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Muskegon, Michigan.

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The Lake Express Ferry has canceled all trips between Milwaukee and Muskegon for Friday September 20, 2018.

A WZZM 13 On Your Side employee scheduled to take the ferry on Friday received a voicemail that said, "Lake Express strives to make comfort and an enjoyable experience the utmost importance for our passengers. Unfortunately we are or will be experiencing high winds and waves on Lake Michigan that will likely make the voyage aboard Lake Express very uncomfortable. Therefore we have decided to cancel your scheduled departure."

The voicemail says passengers have a choice of rescheduling their trip or receiving a refund.

13 On Your Side has reached out to the Lake Express to find out which runs have been canceled and if any are still running on Friday, but have not received a response yet.
