Port City Princess to stay in Muskegon after sale

A new Muskegon-based ownership group has plans to operate the ship this summer.

The family that's owned and operated the Port City Princess in Muskegon for nearly three decades has sold the ship.

Members of the Precious family announced the sale on the Port City Princess' Facebook page. A new Muskegon-based ownership group has plans to operate the ship this summer.

At this time the Precious family is not identifying the new owners. The deal keeps the Princess in Muskegon.

The family was considering an offer that would have relocated the boat to a Northern Michigan port.

The Princess makes regular cruises on Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan, and is popular for weddings receptions and corporate outings. Before arriving in Muskegon the ship was a Mackinac Island ferry boat.
