EAST LANSING — Police have released the identity of a Michigan State University student killed in a shooting early Friday morning.
Isai Berrones, 22, was fatally shot just before 3 a.m. Friday at the 25 East apartment complex, in the 2500 block of Chandler Street, East Lansing police said.
Berrones, who was a senior majoring in food science at MSU, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. He originally is from Alamo, Texas.
East Lansing police responded to a call about shots fired and people fighting about 2:44 a.m. Friday. They arrived on scene to find Berrones.
The apartment complex is near Lake Lansing and Abbott roads.
The shooting remains under investigation.
