Man dies after fire breaks out in Lowell

Lowell police and fire crews got the call just after 11 p.m. on a fire on Grand River Drive near Montcalm Avenue on the southeast side of the city.

LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A man has died in Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids after he was transported from a late night house fire on Thursday, Nov. 29.

Lowell police and fire crews got the call just after 11 p.m. on a fire on Grand River Drive near Montcalm Avenue on the southeast side of the city.

The man was 50. His identity has not been released. It's not clear at this point what caused the fire.

Assisting agencies include Ada Township Fire, Cascade Township Fire, Bowne Township Fire, and Saranac Fire.
