Police identify two people found dead at Rodeway Inn in Whitehall

Michigan State Police identified the deceased as 26-year-old Jessica Bramer of Grand Rapids and 28-year-old Christian Reed of Marne.

WHITEHALL, Mich. — Troopers from the state police post in Rockford found two bodies in a room at the Rodeway Inn in Whitehall just before noon on Friday, while responding to a call for a well-being check.

Michigan State Police identified the deceased as 26-year-old Jessica Bramer of Grand Rapids and 28-year-old Christian Reed of Marne.

Police also found a 6-month-old, who was taken to the hospital, then flown to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. The child is still listed in critical condition, but police believe the infant was alone in the room for a period of days.

An initial autopsy did not identify an immediate cause of death for either individual.

Michigan State Police are asking that anyone who had contact with Bramer or Reed after May 14 to contact D/Sgt. Denise Bentley at 616-866-4411.
