Horse killed in Van Buren County buggy, car crash

The incident is still being investigated.

BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A horse was killed on Tuesday morning after a van crashed head-on into a horse drawn buggy on 46th Street near County Road 388 in Van Buren County.

The horse was killed on impact and the 67-year-old man driving the buggy was ejected. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office says that the van, which was driven by a 59-year-old man from Grand Junction, crossed the centerline of 46th Street and crashed into the buggy.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The incident is still being investigated.
