Authorities in Gratiot County have released photos of a corpse's tattoos in the hopes of identifying their owner, a man who was found dead in a garbage bag.

Two hunters discovered the bag at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in a ditch on Warner Road near Olive Road in Seville Township, according to the Gratiot County Sheriff's Office. They slit it open, saw what was inside and called 911.

The man is about 60 to 70 years, according to an autopsy. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 185 pounds and has medium length, thinning brown/gray hair.

He has two distinct tattoos: An eagle on his right shoulder, and a tattoo on his left shoulder of a skull wearing a cowboy hat and handkerchief. The words "Texas," "Florida," and "Michigan" encircle the skull, along with chain links.

Authorities said the man appeared to have a recent injury to a finger or fingers on his left hand. His middle and ring fingers were taped together.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Gratiot County Sheriff's Office at 989-875-5214.
