It's Tuesday, which means 13 ON YOUR SIDE is looking forward to the weekend with the help of Grand Rapids Kids.

It's a huge weekend in Holland as Tulip Time 2019 gets underway. This year is extra special since the festival is celebrating it's 90th anniversary.

Tulip Time officially kicks off Saturday with all kinds of events. At 8 a.m. the Tulip Time race kicks off at Kollen Park. Choose to participate in a 5K or 10K -- or run them both.

At 9 a.m. hop aboard a trolley at Window on the Waterfront to tour Tulip City in style. At 10 a.m., the Tall Ship dockside tours begin next to Boatwerks restaurant.

Then at 11 a.m., Kinderplaats opens in the south lot of the civic center. Kids will travel through the provinces of the Netherlands learning about Dutch heritage as they go.

Tulip Time Festival added a new photo.

But if Tulip Time doesn't interest you, it's a big weekend for another lakeshore town. The first musical fountain performance of the season is Friday in Grand Haven, with another performance on Saturday.

Both are at 10 p.m. and are free. If you've never seen this synchronized light and water show it really is something unique to Coast Guard City, USA.

And then in Borculo, it's a celebration of a flower some might simply call a weed.
The Dandelion Festival is happening in the small Ottawa County town.

It starts with a pancake breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Borculo Christian Reformed Church on 96th Ave. The Dandelion Fun Run at Borculo Christian School begins at 8 a.m. The carnival and kids activities begin at 9 a.m., then the parade kicks off at 11 a.m.
