What's Up this Weekend: Tulip Time, Post Family Farm, Blandford Nature Center

From Tulip Time to a spring festival at Post Family Farm, here is a look at what's happening this weekend

It's Tuesday, which means 13 ON YOUR SIDE is looking forward to the weekend with the help of Grand Rapids Kids. This week we are starting in Holland where the 90th anniversary of Tulip Time is well underway.

Saturday is one of, if not, the biggest day of the festival with the largest parade happening that afternoon. The Muziekparade kicks off at 2 p.m. with more than 4,000 participants and 170 entries. It begins on 8th Street and ends at Holland high school. It's the longest parade route in Michigan.

Dutch Dance performances will continue at Centennial Park, the carnival will be open until 11 p.m. The ship tours will begin at 10 a.m. and wrap at 4 p.m.. The festival fireworks are set to go off at dusk with all kinds of live performances leading up to the show at Kollen Park.

Also on Saturday, it's the spring festival at the Post Family Farm in Hudsonville. Hayrides, train rides, and visits to the animal barn will all be part of the fun. Cost is 5 dollars per person. The fun begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Post Family Farm is on Bauer Road.

Then at 10:30 a.m.,you can head to the Blanford Nature Center in Grand Rapids to meet the animals. The staff at the Center will introduce you to all the amazing animals residents who call the center home. Program is for all ages but you do need to register in advance.
