Authorities ID driver killed in utility pole crash in Muskegon Twp.

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan State Police said 35-year-old Andrew Tyler, of Grant, died Sunday morning in a single car crash in Muskegon Township.

Troopers responded to the crash at 12:40 a.m. on River Road near Betty Lane. Police said Tyler was driving a 2006 Jeep Commander heading east on River Road. His Jeep went off the road near a curve west of Betty Lane. 

Tyler then crashed into a utility pole, turned over and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
