Brandon was found in a wooded area behind his home by police. He died of an apparently self-inflicted gun shot wound.
The crime remains under investigation.
Court records in Muskegon County show Brittany filed for divorce against her husband, Brandon, on Jan. 16, 2018. The couple's next court date was scheduled for July.
According to her obituary, Brittany "lived her life fearlessly and always to the fullest. She was adventurous and spontaneous, liked to travel and camp, and enjoyed taking trips to Silver Lake with her family.
