Hundreds expected at Women for Whitmer statewide meeting

The "Women Get Things Done: Women for Whitmer Statewide Meeting" is at 5 p.m. Friday night inside the Muskegon High School auditorium.

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Hundreds of attendees are expected to attend the "Women Get Things Done: Women for Whitmer" statewide meeting at 5 p.m. Friday inside the Muskegon High School auditorium. 

Phyllis Loudermill, one of the organizers of the event, said the purpose of the event is to "is to unify women from across Michigan and the Great Lakes region, including Detroit, Big Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Muskegon."

Loudermill is president of the National Association for the Advance of Colored People of Newaygo counties.

Other organizers for the event include Vanetta Adams, president of WINC for all women veterans; Progressive Democratic Women's Caucus; and the Black Women's Political Caucus. 

Attendees will have a chance to talk with women across the state to discuss issues that affect their communities.

The event is free and open to the public.
