Norton Shores Department of Public Works hosting Snowplow 'Roadeo'

Norton Shores Public Works hosting Snowplow "Roadeo" to prepare for winter.

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. - The City of Norton Shores Public Works are hosting the 2018 American Public Works Association (APWA) Midwest Michigan Snowplow Roadeo and Equipment Show. The event is taking place at the City of Norton Shores Maintenance Facility, 1174 E. Mt. Garfield Road, Norton Shores, on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event helps public agencies prepare for upcoming winter operations by training drivers, networking and viewing useful products and services. The event also provides opportunities for public administrators, media and elected officials to operate snow removal equipment in a non-working and non-emergency environment.

The event features a timed obstacle course for professional snow plow drivers from across Michigan. The winners of the obstacle course will advance to the international finals in Colorado. Equipment vendors and public agencies throughout the Midwest are displaying their products and services as well as sharing the best practices for winter snow removal operations.
