Second Love Lives Here event held in Muskegon

Love Lives Here started in 2017 following a few incidents of hate in Muskegon.

MUSKEGON, Mich. - A year after the inaugural Love Lives Here event in Muskegon, the organization held their second rally on Monday evening.

From 5-6 p.m. people gathered at Hackley Park for the event which featured keynote speaker Molly Barker, the founder of Girls on the Run and the Red Boot Way.

Love Lives Here started in 2017 following a few incidents of hate in Muskegon. A noose was found on school grounds in August 2017 and later that month racial slurs were discovered to be written on a statue.

The campaign was created in response to that as a way for people to gather together and renounce hate.
