Pine Rest Opens Forest Hills Clinic Geared Towards Children & Young People

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services has opened another outpatient clinic bringing the total to 18 in West Michigan. This one is located in the same building as Forest Hills Pediatric Associates at 877 Forest Hills Avenue, SW, Suite C.

FOREST HILLS, Mich. - Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services has opened an 18th outpatient clinic in West Michigan, and this one will serve children, adolescents and their families.

This one is located in the same building as Forest Hills Pediatric Associates at 877 Forest Hills Avenue, SW, Suite C. It has seven therapists, a psychiatrist, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry fellows.

Every practitioner is credentialed, licensed and trained to address the unique challenges children and young people face, while supporting and helping the rest of the family. Tory Seif, PhD, has transitioned within Pine Rest to be the Forest Hills Clinic manager.

“Dr. Seif brings a depth of clinical knowledge and managerial experience to his new role, and his passion for treating children and adolescents makes him the ideal person to help Pine Rest establish this unique clinic,” says Megan Auffrey-Zambiasi, Regional Director, Pine Rest Outpatient Clinics.

Clinicians work to get an accurate diagnosis and develop an age-appropriate treatment plan. The ultimate goal is to maximize quality of life and potential at school, home, and in the community for every child, adolescent and family member.

The clinical staff can address many concerns; a few examples are issues with adjustment, adoption and foster care, anger management, divorce and blended family, grief and loss, parent-child conflict, self-harm behaviors, stress, substance use, and trauma.

The team treats several disorders such as anxiety, attention deficit/hyperactivity, obsessive compulsive, separation anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, Tourette ’s syndrome, depression and other mood disorders.

The types of services offered are:

  • Psychotherapy for children, adolescents and their families including play therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and interpersonal therapy
  • Psychiatric evaluation, consultation and medication management
  • Referrals to treatment programs including partial hospitalization and inpatient programs
  • Consultation services for pastors, physicians, school officials and other mental health providers

“The opportunity to partner with Forest Hills Pediatric Associates and other area We Are For Children pediatric practices is something we are excited about starting,” says Tory Seif, PhD, Pine Rest Forest Hills Clinic manager. “Having a clinic of experts focused on the clinical care of children, adolescents, and their families will allow us over time to develop specialized services for this population and their unique needs, and maximize the positive impact we can have on the health of the community.”

The clinic participates with most health insurance plans. New appointments can be made by calling 866.852.4001. Learn more about the Forest Hills Clinic at www.pinerest.org/forest-hills.
