Police arrest standoff suspect after foot pursuit

On Wednesday, police say Washington was involved in a six hour armed standoff inside a home on Dale Street. Police say that incident is still under investigation.

Grand Rapids Police have made an arrest after a stand off and a two day long search.

27-year-old Tarrel Jammal Washington was taken into custody after being chased down on foot by police officers Thursday, June 21 in the 800 block of Burton St. SE. According to police Washington was lodged for his warrants.

On Wednesday, police say Washington was involved in a six hour armed standoff inside a home on Dale Street. Police say that incident is still under investigation.

Grand Rapids Police are responding to what they are calling a "critical incident" on the city's northwest side. A 27-year-old man is currently inside a home on Dale Street, armed with at least one victim.
