Kent County Sheriff's Deputies are warning residents about a phone scam.

Deputies say as of Thursday, there have been two reports of a phone scam in which a caller poses as a utility company representative informing the resident that they are behind on payments.

The caller warns that the power will be shut off if not paid immediately and instructs them to pay with prepaid gift cards.
