GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 30-year-old woman from Wyoming, Michigan, was killed early Saturday morning when she lost control of her vehicle during a period of heavy rain.

The incident occurred just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning and shut down the southbound lanes of US-131 just south of Hall Street.

According to police, the driver was in the right lane and lost control of her vehicle, traveled into other lanes and was struck by two other vehicles.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
