Police: Speed a factor in serious crash that hospitalized 3 people

Three people have been hospitalized after a serious crash in Wyoming Sunday morning.

WYOMING, Mich. - Authorities in Wyoming are investigation a serious crash that put three people in the hospital on Sunday.

According to Lt. Mark Easterly of the Wyoming Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 10 a.m. on Sunday on Byron Center Avenue near 38th Street.

A 22-year-old driving south on Byron Center hit another vehicle that turning north on Byron Center from 38th Avenue. The second vehicle was driven by a 90-year-old Wyoming man.

The Wyoming man and his 89-year-old spouse were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The 22-year-old man needed to be pulled from his vehicle and was taken to the hospital with multiple, serious leg injuries.

Police shut down the roadway for about three hours while the scene was cleaned up and investigated. Witnesses told police that the 22-year-old driver's speed was a factor in the crash.
