Teachers from Wyoming Public Schools get trauma training

Metro Health and Wyoming Police worked together to train teachers from the middle school and high school.

WYOMING, Mich. — Teachers from Wyoming Public Schools received Stop the Bleed training on Tuesday. The training gives teachers practical skills that can save lives in a mass shooting situation.

Metro Health and Wyoming Police worked together to train teachers from the middle school and high school.

It is estimated that 30-40 percent of victims who die in mass shootings bleed to death.

The teachers learned what to do in a trauma situation to help students and victims who have been injured.

The schools will also receive Stop The Bleed buckets, equipped with gauze, tourniquets and other supplies that experts say schools should have on hand.
