Man killed in Wyoming stabbing identified

The man has been identified as David Lee Baker of Grand Rapids.

WYOMING, Mich. — The man killed in a stabbing in Wyoming Tuesday night has been identified as 37-year-old David Lee Baker of Grand Rapids.

Lt. Eric Wiler of the Wyoming Police Department said they responded to a report of an argument around 10:23 p.m. at a home Porter Street SW between Berwyn Avenue SW and Camden Avenue SW. 

When officers arrived, they found Baker with severe stab wounds. He had no pulse and was not breathing. Officers attempted CPR but could not save the victim and he died at the scene.

Another man who tried to intervene in the argument was also stabbed. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.  

Police went to a home at the intersection of Ivanrest Avenue and Pine Meadow Drive in Grandville on Wednesday and said they were searching for a person of interest related to the stabbing. They were unable to locate who they were looking for and left the scene around 6 p.m. Wednesday night.

Wyoming Police say the surviving victim is in recovery and doing well.
