Man involved in Grand Rapids standoff gives himself up

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The man involved in a standoff with Grand Rapids Police late Tuesday, May 28, has given himself up.

Police were called out to Stewart Street SW near Division Avenue just after 8 p.m. They spoke with a victim who was threatened by the suspect with a box cutter following a dispute over rent. Multiple witnesses saw it happen. 

Some neighbors left during the standoff while others stayed and locked their doors.

It's not clear what charges the suspect could be facing.
