Need a laugh? Check out some 'weird news' of the day

Do you prefer "Mayo" or "Miracle Whip?"

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. The 13 ON YOUR SIDE Morning team is brightening up your Tuesday with some "news of the weird."

"Hold the mayo" for this story: The mayor of the tiny town of Mayo, Florida told the 1,500 residents they were changing the town's name to "Miracle Whip." It started as a secret and marketing proposal from the Kraft-Heinz owned mayonnaise-alternative. It is a joke.

The town's elected officials say they'll let residents in on the joke after a few days, but not before street signs and the name on the water tower have been switched. They're getting between $15-$25,000 to do it. The money will go to the beautification of the city.

What's another state weird things always seem to happen in? This story comes out of Southern California. Deputies found 800-pounds of stolen lemons inside a man's car.

Riverside County Sheriffs officials say Dionicio Fierros was arrested and booked on Friday. He was charged with theft of agricultural products.

Deputies were investigating recent farm thefts when they stopped his car. Several large bags of freshly picked lemons were found... they say they were stolen from a nearby farm.
