LUDINGTON, Mich - Summer officially starts Friday. Season of warm weather and flowers, and a group that specializes in the latter is doing some good work.
The Mason County Garden Club has a membership of more than 70 women. Some are part of the "Cups of Cheer Committee." They meet once a month at the Ludington Senior Center to make flower arrangements in cups or mugs.
Those arrangements are then given to patients in local extended-care facilities. They've been going strong since December 2013. They have created close to 18-hundred cups of cheer, making a lot of those patients smile in the process.
Everyone needs their day brightened once in a while, and for doing so, for some extended care patients, the Mason County Garden Club "Cups of Cheer Committee" gets today's One Good Thing.
If you have a One Good Thing you'd like to submit - someone or something that makes West Michigan a good place to live - email me at OneGoodThing@WZZM13.com.
