It's always nice when we can recognize our first responders when they do something nice. Other than the dangerous jobs for which we're all grateful on a daily basis. Today, is one of those days.
On Tuesday, the Fruitport Township Police and Fruitport Fire Departments went to the local Meijer for this year's "Shop with a Hero" event. The public school system selected some families to receive gift cards from Meijer. Then, a child and their 'hero' went shopping. They got something for each member of their family... then got to choose something for themselves. And, Boy Scout Troop 11-27 handled all the gift wrapping. Again, this is an annual event that helps a lot of families in the area have a Merry Christmas!
Lots of groups to recognize here. Fruitport Township Police, Fruitport Fire, Meijer, Boy Scout Troop 11-27 and more. One Good Thing to you all for making "Shop with a Hero" a success.
