Fatal crash shuts down Kraft Avenue near airport

Deputies say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A motorcyclist is dead after a crash with a car early Monday morning.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene in the 5000 block of Kraft Avenue near 52nd Street around 7:23 a.m. on Sept. 17.

Deputies say the motorcyclist, identified as 58-year-old Michael Wilberding of Greenville, was struck head-on by a northbound sedan, driven by 48-year-old Andrijana Masnica, also of Greenville.

AeroMed was launched but was later disregarded. Wilberding was pronounce dead at the scene.

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Monday, Sept. 17, near the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
