West Michigan suffers third straight loss

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - After four straight games decided by a run each, the Whitecaps were hoping for a change of pace against Beloit. They got their wish Sunday, just not the result, losing 8-1 at Fifth Third Ballpark.

The Snappers jumped to an early lead getting three runs in third before breaking the game open with three more in the fifth. West Michigan was held to three hits in defeat.

Wilkel Hernandez suffered the loss for West Michigan, giving up three runs on five hits in three and two-third innigns of work. He dropped 0-3 on the season.

The Whitecaps suffered their third straight defeat. They play one more game with Beloit at home Monday before embarking on a six game road trip later in the week.
