Michigan football fans are understandably frustrated after the season-opening loss at Notre Dame on Saturday.

And the emotions are not foreign to even the most prominent Wolverines alums, or so it would seem.

During U-M's 24-17 loss, former All-American wide receiver Braylon Edwards appeared to fire off a few tweets. But we all know how emoting on social media can go wrong.

The sports website, The Spun, seems to have captured a screengrab of Edwards' Twitter account during the game. Here's how those tweets read:

"Ruiz is weak, line is weak, shea is scared, (expletive) Michigan offense is so predictable.....Michigan football is sadly one thing......Trash"

About 8 minutes later, Edwards continued: "Come on Michigan really Running backs running routes andQBs will be good? I'm done."

And 10 minutes after that: "Lol Everybody had your back. I gotta laugh because i knew this would happen. Don't feel bad, watch the truth."

As of 10:40 Sunday morning, those tweets don't appear on Edwards' verified account page, though evidence suggests the earlier tweets are legit.

Edwards, whose father, Stan, also played at U-M, caught 39 touchdowns over his college career and won the Fred Biletnikoff Awards as the nation's best wide receiver in 2004. He was drafted third overall in the 2005 NFL draft but bounced around the league, last playing in 2012 with the Jets.

He has since dabbled in both radio and TV football analysis.

Braylon's brother, Berkley, is a U-M graduate transfer and running back.

Former U-M fullback Khalid Hill, who now plays for the Seattle Seahawks has since responded on Twitter.

"Sickens me that you went to u of m and you got the nerve to threw a tweet up like this," Hill wrote.

"(I don't care) what you did a (sic) Michigan, these guys don't deserve that neither does the team!"
