Ferris State postpones National Championship celebration due to weather

Ferris State University has postponed a campus-wide celebration due to this weekend's adverse weather.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The party will go on, just not this weekend.

Ferris State University was set to celebrate their men's basketball team, after the Bulldogs won the Division II National Championship title, but with this weekend's inclement weather has forced officials to rescheduled the fun.

A major ice storm is possible this weekend, with heavy freezing rain expected throughout West Michigan.

This was the first national title for Ferris State in any sport, and the first time a school from Michigan won the Division II men's basketball championship. The Bulldogs were welcomed back home to a large crowd following their win, something one senior called "straight out of a dream."
