PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Kelly Shon and So Yeon Ryu are tied for the lead after one round of the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give.
Ryu, the sixth ranked player in the world, and Shon teed off in the morning and they both blistered the front nine of Blythefield Country Club. Ryu shot a five-under-par 31 on the front nine, while Shon shot seven-under-par 29.
The pair share a two stroke lead over four golfers that finished their rounds at six-under-par. There are 24 golfers within four shots of the leaders. The full leaderboard can be found on the LPGA's website.
The tournament continues through the weekend with the final round scheduled for Sunday. The first groups are scheduled to tee off at shortly after 7:00 a.m. each day.
