We are right in the middle of football season, which means there are plenty of high school football players making a splash.
This week we rounded up three outstanding players from around West Michigan for the Week 5 MVP.
Gio Weeks, Kent City running back: The Kent City star couldn't be stopped in last Friday's win over Morley Stanwood. Weeks totaled five touchdowns and 241 yards rushing. He also became the school's all-time leading rusher with over 3000 yards in his career.
Gabe Taylor, Zeeland East quarterback: Zeeland East’s Gabe Taylor had himself a night against Holland Christian. The Chix star quarterback had 298 yards rushing on 27 carries with five TDs. He's a big reason why the Chix are 4-1 this year.
Ja'Kaurie Kirkland, Northview running back: The Northview star was literally running all over Forest Hills Central Friday. The junior rushed for 1 hundred 53 and scored one touchdown in the Wildcats win over the Rangers..
Make sure you cast your vote. The poll closes on Wednesday night.
