Montague wins the Battle of the Bell over Whitehall

After last year's thriller in the Battle for the Bell, fans were looking for another good one between Montague and Whitehall.

MONTAGUE, Mich. - It was a tale of two halves in many ways. Montague never let go of their lead, but their opponents from across White Lake had a lot of hope left going into the locker room for half time down 13-0. But it was in the second half that the wheels fell off for Whitehall.

The Wildcats came right out and figuratively punched the Vikings in the mouth in the third quarter with a Bryce Stark touchdown to put Montague up 20-0. Stark, a captain, had 126 of Montague's 272 rush yards on the night. Shortly after that, John Monette added a touchdown to put the Wildcats up 27-0.

Drew Collins added a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown later on. Brennan Schwarz was on the receiving end of that pass. Nick Stever scored the final touchdown of the game on a long interception return to give Montague a 48-7 win.

The lone touchdown of the game for Whitehall was a long bomb pass from Liam Johnson to Terrell Harris.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Vikings as they play their third straight road game at Ravenna next week. Montague travels to Hart.
