This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete is Byron Center's Jacob Willemsen.
The senior is warming up for baseball season this week but plays basketball and tennis for the Bulldogs the rest of the school year.
He carries a 4.24 GPA in the classroom.
After Byron Center he plans to take those grades and study nursing at Hope College, where the center fielder will also continue his baseball career.
It will take a lot to handle the work of a college athlete but he's confident his busy high school schedule will help him succeed.
