SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz says she is confident Wednesday's game between the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins will be played, despite an island-wide power outage.

The blackout hit Puerto Rico late Wednesday morning as the island has struggled with an unstable power grid nearly seven months after Hurricane Maria hit.

The Indians and Twins are scheduled for the second of a two-game series at San Juan's Hiram Bithorn Stadium at 7 p.m. The Indians won Tuesday's game, 6-1.

Cruz tweeted plans for tonight, noting that tower lights will be brought in to the parking lot and security will be increased at the stadium. All emergency systems at the stadium were tested.

"Nothing will stop us," Cruz added.

Officials say it could take 24 to 36 hours to fully restore power.
