The Fifth Third Burger isn't dead yet

The Whitecaps are bringing the giant burger out of retirement.

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. - The whopping 5,000-calorie Fifth Third Burger was "retired" on Sunday, Sept. 2.

Or, that's what we thought.

After the Whitecaps clinched a spot in the playoffs on Monday afternoon, beating the Fort Wayne TinCaps 3-2 in 10 innings, the team announced that they are resurrecting the Fifth Third Burger.

If you are interested in trying to eat the massive menu item, which has has five one-third pound beef patties, nacho cheese, chili, salsa, tortilla chips, lettuce and tomato on an 8-inch sesame seed bun, then you'll have another chance.

The Whitecaps say that the burger will be available for as long as they're in the playoffs.

At 13 ON YOUR SIDE, three people have tried the challenge: Dave Kaechele, Mike Lacett and Kamady Rudd. All have failed.

The Whitecaps are playing their first game in the playoffs on Wednesday, Sept. 5 against the Great Lakes Loons at 7:05 p.m. at Fifth Third Ballpark.
